Pool Table Recovering
New cloth on the bed and rails, and the slate seen properly.
Cloth wears out at the break spot, along the top rail under people's hands, and at the pocket mouths. Once one of those goes the rest is generally thin enough that replacing everything beats replacing it twice.
This is also the one visit where the slate is uncovered, so seams, bolts and rubber get inspected rather than assumed, and levelling happens while nothing is in the way. New cloth laid over a drifted bed just hides the problem under something you paid for.
Choosing the cloth
Two decisions: which cloth, and whether the rails get attention at the same time.
- Woollen has a nap and plays slower, forgiving in a room where everybody takes a turn.
- Worsted is smooth and fast, the league and hall surface. Balls run further than people expect.
- Colour is open. Dark hides chalk dust, light shows wear sooner.
- Rubber can be replaced during the same visit, and should be if the cushions return dead.
A room shut up through a humid summer is harder on cloth than one conditioned year round, so mention it if the table only gets used at weekends. Send the size and whether you want quick or steady, and the options come back with the price.
What finished looks like
At Charlotte Pool Table Movers we guarantee all our work. If you use our services and are unsatisfied with the results, we will come back out to resolve the issue. That is good for 90 days after the service is completed. We are fully insured against any damage that may occur while moving your pool table.
There is no additional charge for stairs on a three piece slate table. We will only move one piece slates up or down stairs under certain conditions and for an additional charge. Disassembling a three piece slate table and taking it out to storage or to your movers is $150. A discount is given when you combine new cloth with another service such as a move or an installation.
